Edward F. Cullen

Edward F. Cullen (* probably 20th century) is / was an American film actor and film producer who was nominated for an Oscar in 1960 .

Life dates

In the silent film drama The Place of the Honeymoons , published in 1920, Cullen first appeared under the name Edward Cullen. He was cast as Donald Abbott. It wasn't until 1950 that his name reappeared in connection with the film. He starred in several episodes of the television series Masterpiece Playhouse , The Pilco Television Playhouse and Pulitzer Prize Playhouse . In 1951, he was cast in the episode Abe Lincoln in Illinois of the Lux Video Theater. The film shows the rise of Abraham Lincoln , who was sworn in as the 16th President of the USA in 1861. This was followed by further work for television. For the documentary short film From Generation to Generation , which he produced in 1959 , Cullen received an Oscar nomination in 1960. However, the trophy was awarded to the Dutchman Bert Haanstra and his film Glas . The focus of the film is the work of a glass blower . From Generation to Generation follows the life of a farmer and his family on a farm in Pennsylvania through all seasons. Another 1959 film was the adventure short film The Chaplin Story from the television series Flight . Cullen produced the film.

Cullen last appeared as an actor in the television movie Arsenic & Lace . He played Mr. Witherspoon. Tony Randall , Boris Karloff and Dorothy Stickney played the leading roles. His last known work as a producer delivered Cullen 1979 and 1982 with the television films A Family Circus Christmas and A Family Circus Easter .
