Edward Garnier

Edward Garnier, Baron Garnier (born October 26, 1952 in Wuppertal ) is a British politician of the Conservative Party .

Garnier attended Wellington College in Berkshire, Jesus College in Oxford and the College of Law in London. In April 1992 he was first elected to the House of Commons . He was a member of the House of Commons for the Harborough constituency from 1992 to 2017 . From 2010 to 2012 he was Solicitor General in England and Wales.

On December 13, 2012, he was knighted as a Knight Bachelor . On June 22, 2018, he was promoted to Life Peer as Baron Garnier , of Harborough in the County of Leicestershire, and thereby became a member of the House of Lords .

Garnier is married and has three children, two sons and a daughter.
