Edward Royce (composer)

Edward Royce (* 1886 in Cambridge / Massachusetts ; † 1963 ) was an American composer and music teacher.

Royce studied at Harvard University and at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin. He was the director of the music theory department at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. As a composer, he emerged with orchestral works (including The Fire-Bringers , 1926; Far Ocean , 1929), some of which were performed by the Rochester Symphony Orchestra . He also composed many works for piano and for organ.
