Egon Kühlbach

Egon Kühlbach is a German local historian.

Life

After the discovery of mass graves in the Fünfeichen internment camp of the Soviet NKVD in 1990, in which his father also died, Kühlbach began, in cooperation with the Regional Museum Neubrandenburg , to compile registers of the former inmates of the camp. He is also a member of the Fünfeichen working group.

In 2012 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his commitment to the historical clarification of a topic that was taboo in the GDR.
