The 2012 West Asian Football Championship (officially: 7th Waff Championship, Kuwait 2012 ™ ) was held in Kuwait from December 8th to 20th . A total of eleven teams competed in the final round organized by the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) to determine the West Asian champions.

Attendees

The eleven participating teams were divided into three groups, two groups with four teams each and one group with three teams. In the group stage, the teams played against each other once in the league system . The group winner and the best runner-up made it to the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals played the final. Third place was not played out.

The preliminary round draw took place on September 16, 2012 in Kuwait City . The following groups emerged:
