The Yemeni national soccer team is the national team of Yemen .
When Yemen was divided into the states of North and South Yemen , there were two national teams. After the reunification of the two states in 1990, the Yemeni national soccer team succeeded the North Yemeni national soccer team , and the South Yemeni national soccer team was dissolved.
Yemen (or North Yemen) has not yet managed to qualify for a World Cup. In 2019 , the team took part in an Asian soccer championship for the first time. The previously only participation of a Yemeni team was achieved by South Yemen at the 1976 Asian Cup .
