Football Asian Cup 1976
The 6th Asian Football Championship was held in Iran from June 3 to June 13, 1976 .
The Iran met in the final game on the selection of Kuwait , which he through a gate of Captain Ali Parvin from 71 minutes to 1: beat 0th Iran won the Asian soccer championship for the third time in a row . In the game for third place, China beat Iraq 1-0 .
The Iranian team captain Ali Parvin was the most valuable player in the 6th Asian Football Championship .
The Iranians Nasser Nouraei and Gholam Hossein Mazloomi as well as the Kuwaiti Fatehi Kamil became record shooters in this final round with three goals each.
Qualification phase and mode of the tournament
The tournament was originally supposed to be held in Lebanon , but due to the civil war there , it was held in Iran . The venues were the Aryamehr Stadium in the capital Tehran and Tabriz .
The Iran qualified automatically as hosts and defending champions. Furthermore, two teams from each of the four qualification groups should take part in the final round. For this purpose, the 17 participating national soccer teams were divided into four groups (two for the Middle East, one each for Southeast and East Asia). The qualification was played from March 15 to May 15, 1975 in Baghdad , Bangkok and Hong Kong .
