The United Arab Emirates national football team is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) men's national team .

history

The UAE Football Association was founded in 1971 and joined FIFA in 1972 . She once took part in a world championship (1990 in Italy), but did not get beyond the preliminary round there.

At the Asian Championships , the team finished fourth in 1992 and second in 1996. Both times they lost the games on penalties. In 2015, the team reached third place after losing in the semi-finals to hosts Australia with a 3-2 win against Iraq .

In 2007 the Emirates won the golf cup for the first time as the host .
At the 2013 Golf Cup in Bahrain , the team was able to win the title again.

Participation in the soccer world championship

The United Arab Emirates team took part in qualifying for the 1986 World Cup for the first time, but failed. After that, the team took part in all qualifications and reached the finals in 1990. But this was the only qualification. In the all-time table of the World Cup finalists, the team occupies 73rd place.
