Former Brandlecht elementary school chapel

The former chapel of the Catholic elementary school in Brandlecht is located in Brandlecht at Postweg 60. It is a listed building .

In 1622 the Brandlecht elementary school was first mentioned in a tax code . The school building was on the grounds of Gut Brandlecht . After the Reformation , Jesuits built a chapel between the school and the riding stables in 1661. In 1655 the religious denominations were separated in schools when the Reformed congregation erected its own school building on the church square in Brandlecht, which housed two classrooms and a teacher's apartment. From then on, only the outnumbered students from Catholic families were taught by post. In 1911 a new Catholic elementary school was built at Engdener Straße 42.

Today there is a kindergarten on the property, which was founded in the chapel in 1972 and has since been expanded to include other buildings on the site. The chapel serves as an exercise space for the children.
