The badge of honor for exemplary performance in the "FDJ-Initiative GDR 25" was an award from the Free German Youth (FDJ) of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated on October 7, 1974 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the GDR. The award of the badge of honor took place for exemplary achievements in the construction of the GDR in the so-called FDJ youth properties.

Appearance and wearing style

The gold medal has the shape of an upside-down square with rounded corners. The state symbol of the GDR is emblazoned over the entire obverse . The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest of the borrower on a narrow blue clasp with the central FDJ symbol and the inscription: DDR (left) and XXV (25) right.
