Medal of honor for midwives

The medal of honor for midwives was donated by Duke Friedrich II of Anhalt on January 1, 1906 , and awarded by the Duchess to midwives who had worked in the country for 30 years without reproach and who had behaved flawlessly .

The award is a gold cross with a slightly longer lower cross arm. In the upper and in the horizontal arms of the cross the inscription FOR LOYALTY IN THE PROFESSION . The back of the cross is smooth. There is a golden crown over the cross.

The award was worn on a green velvet ribbon around the neck.

After the death of the borrower, the award was subject to return.
