The Badge of Honor for Services to the Bavarian Red Cross is a badge of honor that is awarded in the name of the Free State of Bavaria by the State Minister of the Interior in recognition of services to the Bavarian Red Cross and may also be worn by Bundeswehr soldiers.

Form of order

The award has the shape of a cross, on the center of which is an enamelled circular shield that shows the Red Cross of the Geneva Convention on a white field and is surrounded by a sky-blue border. The cross shows the Bavarian diamond coat of arms on the upper arm. The award is given for 25 years of service in silver, for 40 years of service in gold. Accordingly, the Roman numerals XXV or XL can be found on the lower arm of the cross. There is also the plug-in cross as the highest form of the badge of honor .

Awards from the Bavarian Red Cross

The badges of honor for 25, 40 and 50 years of service at the Bavarian Red Cross are time awards. The needles are awarded for active volunteer work. The gold badge for 40 and 50 years is awarded by the President of the Bavarian Red Cross, the silver badge of honor for 25 years or for special merits by the chairman of the respective BRK district association.
