Oak at the Emmertshof
The Emmertshof oak is one of the strongest and oldest common oaks ( Quercus robur ) in southern Germany. It stands about one kilometer north of the Neuenstein motorway exit (on the A 6 between Heilbronn and Nuremberg ) and is a natural monument .
Their age is indicated on an attached plaque with 750 years. Their trunk circumference at the thinnest point (waist) is 7.56 meters, their crown height is 17 meters and their largest diameter is over 30 meters. The powerful lateral root run-up of the trunk base is characteristic.
