Eileen Wilks

Eileen Wilks (born November 3, 1952 in Monahans, Texas ) is a " USA Today " bestselling author and prefers to write romance and mystery stories.

Life

Eileen Wilks was born in Texas and is currently living in the west of the state again after living in Canada, Venezuela and five different US states.

When Eileen started writing, she felt that romantic stories didn't get enough audiences. She preferred science fiction herself. It was only in her criticism group that she made the decision to publish her stories. Her first book was published in the Silhouette Desire series in 1996 and was immediately on the USA Today bestseller list (# 146 on May 30, 1996) and nominated for the Romantic Times Award for best contemporary short story. After further publications, she has twice been a finalist in the Rita Awards of the Romance Writers of America (1998 and 1999).

Her initial focus on romance has now turned into a mix of romance, fantasy and science fiction. Her Lupi series in particular is becoming increasingly popular. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America .
