The German contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest 1968 , which was sung in German by the Norwegian singer Wencke Myhre, was a high of love . Myhre took 6th place with 11 points. She was the first of three Scandinavian Schlager artists who represented Germany in the competition in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In the following year 1969 the Swede Siw Malmkvist represented Germany with the title prima ballerina . The Danish Gitte Hænning performed in 1973 with the title Young Day for Germany.
