Point of single contact North Rhine-Westphalia
The Point of Single Contact North Rhine-Westphalia ( EA NRW ) has been located in the Detmold district government since January 2016 . As an institution of the EU Services Directive , EA NRW sees itself as a “digital authority guide”. He supports domestic and foreign service providers, for example in setting up a company or in cross-border activities. At the same time, he helps with questions about the recognition of foreign professional qualifications. Companies or individuals can obtain information about the respective procedures from EA NRW and complete it electronically without having to go to the various offices.

For the processing of inquiries or the process coordination of administrative services, EA NRW does not charge any fees or expenses in accordance with § 3 of the law on the formation of single contact persons in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Providing information
The EA NRW Internet portal provides information on taking up and performing service activities . This includes, for example, information about the procedure, the necessary documents, fees and contact details for the competent authorities. In addition, information is available about access to public registers and directories, chambers and about setting up a business. All necessary information for the recognition of foreign professional qualifications can also be found on the Internet portal. The EA NRW internet portal is multilingual (English, French, Dutch). The person seeking information can also communicate their request by phone, email or post.
Process coordination
The procedures and formalities that are necessary for the exercise and commencement of a service activity can be processed electronically via EA NRW. A “ticket system” is available on the EA NRW Internet portal for this purpose.

Legal basis
The legal basis for the activities of the point of single contact in North Rhine-Westphalia is the law on the formation of points of single contact in North Rhine-Westphalia (EA Act NRW). It was published in article five of the law for the implementation of European legal requirements on the recognition of foreign professional qualifications in North Rhine-Westphalia of April 26, 2016 (GV. NRW. P. 230).
