Grinding paste

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Grinding paste or special valve grinding paste is used to repair valves and other closures that are as tight as possible ( steam dome lids in steam locomotives , inlet and outlet valves in combustion engines ). The paste consists of very fine sand and fat. For repairs, the paste is applied to the area between the valve disk and the valve seat insert and then the valve is slowly turned back and forth. As a result, the valve head and valve seat insert are adapted to one another. A suction cup is attached to the valve for rotation . Either a stick or a special attachment for a drill is attached to this. This should also rotate in both directions.
