Einstein is a knowledge program on the Swiss television program SRF 1 . It was named after the physicist and Nobel Prize winner Albert Einstein .

Einstein is an in-house production by Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF) and reports in a maximum of 10-minute individual contributions about the phenomena and secrets of everyday life .

The concept provides that, based on the experience of the viewer, they can experience the broadcast content together with the moderation team. Scientists convey the interrelationships of the content shown and should thus create a link between everyday life and science , making science tangible .

The editorial team has succeeded Menschen Technik Wissenschaft (MTW). After 32 years, MTW was replaced by Einstein on March 29, 2007 as part of a restructuring of the station , which is supposed to contain more audience-friendly topics .

The first episode of the 45-minute knowledge program ( infotainment ) had its premiere on April 12, 2007. The broadcast profile provides for weekly broadcasts on Thursdays (until March 2017 at 9:00 p.m., since April 2017 at 10:25 p.m.); Repetitions are made on SRF 1 and SRF info .

The program is moderated by Kathrin Hönegger (successor to Nicole Ulrich since February 20, 2014) and Tobias Müller (successor to Mario Torriani since July 1, 2011).
