Karachi Railway Accident
The Karachi railway accident was a rear-end collision between two Pakistan Railways trains on November 3, 2016 at Juma Goth Station in Karachi- Landhi, Pakistan . 22 people died.
Starting position
The Zakaria Express from Multan had come to a standstill in Juma Goth train station in Landhi, a district of Karachi. The Fareed Express from Lahore followed him in the driveway . The trains were manned by around 1,000 passengers.
the accident
The Fareed Express ran over the entry signal that was supposed to protect the Zakaria Express . It is a matter of dispute whether the signal told the driver of the train to “stop” or not. The Fareed Express rammed the standing train at 7:18 a.m. Two cars tipped off the track, three cars were destroyed and others were badly damaged.
consequences
22 people died, 65 were also injured.
All rail traffic to and from Karachi was interrupted for some time after the accident.
