The cigar brand El Rey del Mundo (German: The King of the World ) is one of the oldest and most famous cigar brands from Cuba .

history

The brand was founded in 1882 by Ramón Allones , who wanted to add a top- quality cigar to his range. It was the successor to the King of the World, produced by the German businessman Emilio Ohmstedt since 1842, and for a long time the most expensive Cuban cigar. El Rey del Mundo cigars are long filler premium cigars with a mild to medium aroma. The brand is owned by the Cuban state and there is another cigar with the same name made in Honduras .
