Eleazar Borissowitsch Solnzew
Eleasar Borissowitsch Solnzew ( Russian Елизар Борисович Солнцев ; * 1900 , † 1936 ) was a Russian historian and economist.
biography
Solnzew studied history and economics at the Institute of the Red Professorship . He worked for several years at Soviet trading companies in Germany and the USA.
During his time in the United States, Solntsev worked with Max Eastman on the editing of the writings of Trotsky and the Left Opposition .
After returning to the Soviet Union in 1928, he was sentenced to five years' imprisonment in the Verkhneuralsk camp. In September 1935 he was sentenced again to five years in prison. To ensure that he could live with his family, he went on a hunger strike. Weakened by this, Solnzew died in 1936 as a result of an infection.
