Electronic sell through
Electronic-Sell-Through (EST) describes a time-unlimited right to use video content acquired via electronic media / networks . Mainly feature films and television series are sold through this form . In most cases, the purchase via EST also includes a download of the film material. You can choose between:
- DTO = Download to Own and
- DTB = Download to Burn
can be distinguished.
The license for use is usually offered more cheaply via EST than the comparable DVD . EST is a sub-form of video-on-demand (VOD). Other VOD forms that do not come under the term of the EST are DTR = Download to Rent, here the buyer / user only acquires the right of use for a finite period of about 24 or 48 hours, or streaming offers.
