Electronic Markets - The International Journal on Networked Business is a quarterly double-blind peer-reviewed scientific journal in the field of business informatics and e-commerce .

history

The publication "Electronic Markets" was published for the first time in 1991 as a free newsletter from the Competence Center for Electronic Markets at the University of St. Gallen . There was a gradual change from purely German-language to purely English-language contributions. It has been published as a quarterly magazine since 1997, and has been published by Routledge ( Taylor & Francis ) since January 1999 . Since then, it has been possible to subscribe to the journal for a fee and the double-blind peer review process was introduced.

At the beginning of 2009 the publisher switched to Springer and the subtitle was added to "The International Journal on Networked Business".

Characteristics

In particular, the journal guarantees short review periods and indicates an average time of less than 60 days until the first decision. The average acceptance rate in 2016 was 15.0%.

The magazine ranking VHB-Jourqual (2015) places Electronic Markets in category B ; in the business informatics sub-ranking, it ranks 38th. The magazine ranking of the British Association of Business Schools (2010) places it in the lower category 1 . According to the current Journal Citation Report , Electronic Markets had an impact factor of 3,818 in 2017 .
