The Eleftheri Ora ( Greek Ἐλεύθερη Ὧρα , Liberated Hour ' ) is a Greek daily newspaper published in Athens. In 1995 it had around 2,300 readers. There is also a Sunday edition ( Ἐλεύθερη Ὧρα τῆς Κυριακῆς ).

Political attitude and tendencies

Politically, the Eleftheri Ora can be classified as nationalist. Anti-Semitic tendencies are also regularly noticed. The newspaper belongs to the “ΙΑΣΠΙΣ” publishing house of Grigoris Michalopoulos, the leader of the right-wing extremist party Ἐθνικὴ Συμμαχία (“National Alliance”), who also owns the weekly newspaper Nei Anthropi and the television station Tile-Tora . The publisher is Theophanis Mamalis , editor-in-chief Apostolos Kapsalis . Furthermore, the Eleftheri Ora is close to the supporters of the former royal family .

language

The language form used is a conservative form of the Dimotiki . Like the Estia, the Eleftheri Ora initially did not follow the orthographic reform of 1982 and applied the polytonic system until the end of the 1990s . Now it seems monotonous.
