The Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. (EÜAŞ) is a Turkish electricity company . The company is owned by the Turkish state. It produces and trades electricity across the country. EÜAŞ was established by the government in 2001. Its main purpose was the planning and implementation of Turkey's energy policy , which is to distribute cheap and subsidized electricity to all Turkish citizens by exploiting local resources. In 2018, Elektrik Üretim took over the state power trading company TETAŞ .

EÜAŞ (jointly with the state gas and oil company BOTAŞ ) is an oligopoly and sets a fixed price for electricity, while prices for end users are regulated. A significant part of the electricity generated by Elektrik Üretim comes from coal-fired power plants . Support for coal in Turkey, the results from the annual expenditure of EÜAŞ for primary materials and supplies is (272 million to ₺953 million US dollars ) estimated per year (average 2016-2017).

Since the company owns the old Can-1 and Afşin-Elbistan B power plants and buys electricity from lignite-fired power plants from the private sector, its coal-powered electricity is very harmful to the environment.
