Johann Nicolaus Pele

Johann Nicolaus Pele (* around 1725 in Groß Trebbow ( Mecklenburg ); † November 29, 1790 in Gadebusch ) was a German university professor .

Johann Nicolaus Pele was born around 1725 as the son of Groß Trebbower pastor Ulrich Matthias Pele (1689–1743), who had been married to Margarethe Eleonore Christine Frieling (1705–1733) since 1723. He studied at the University of Rostock from April 1745 , was a respondent from 1747 and was awarded a doctorate in 1750 with the thesis “De Concvrsv Adscendentiv Et Collateralivm, In Svccessione Fevdali”. iur. PhD. In 1751 he was appointed ducal professor of rights / Codex at the law faculty and was appointed a member of the ducal consistory. Under Duke Friedrich (Mecklenburg) , Pele was vice-rector of the university in the summer semester of 1752 .

Johann Nicolaus Pele was engaged to Wendula Katharina Schmidt, the eldest daughter of the government councilor Johann Peter Schmidt , but is said to have lost his mind around 1756. From 1754 he was no longer listed in the course catalogs and was relieved of his post in 1756 due to mental illness. He then lived in Ribnitz and finally in Gadebusch.
