Electronic bulk payments

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The electronic bulk payment system ( EMZ ) is a cost-effective system for processing non-urgent payments by the Deutsche Bundesbank .

An essential characteristic is the file orientation during delivery and delivery as well as processing. Around 700 credit institutions and other account holders of the Bundesbank use the RPS. You submit around 9 million orders (equivalent to 8 billion euros) every working day.

development

The EMZ was introduced by the Bundesbank in the early 1970s. Since 2003, the Bundesbank has also opened the national clearing procedure for cross-border payments to other European countries. This was done through the connection to the STEP2 process. The Bundesbank has been offering SWIFT access for EMZ since January 9, 2006, and the Electronic Banking Internet Communication Standard (EBICS) has also been supported since January 26, 2009 .

Transfer procedure

At the end of 2010, old transfer procedures were discontinued:

  • EMZ via FTAM (File Transfer and Access Management) via ISDN (until the end of 2010)

There are currently two transmission routes for EMZ data to the Bundesbank:

  • EMZ via SWIFTNet FileAct (since January 9, 2006)
  • EMZ via EBICS (since January 26, 2009)

Data format

The DTAUS (data carrier exchange procedure) is used for domestic payment transactions .
