Elena Papandreou

Elena Papandreou ( Greek Έλενα Παπανδρέου ; born March 7, 1966 in Athens ) is a Greek classical guitarist .

Papandreou studied with Evangelos Boudounis at the National Conservatory in Athens until 1985 , then at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester . Papandreou won three international competitions and in 1995 the second prize in the International Competition of the Guitar Foundation of America (behind Antigoni Goni ).

Papandreou teaches guitar at the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki and at the National Conservatory in Athens . She made several recordings, including works by Roland Dyens , Nikita Koshkin and Leo Brouwer .
