Elizabeth Chadwick

Elizabeth Chadwick (* 1957) is an English bestselling author of historical novels.

Elizabeth Chadwick began writing historical novels at the age of 15. Years later, in 1990 , after she was already married and had two sons, her first novel, The Wild Hunt , was accepted for publication by the Penguin publishing group. A year later, The Wild Hunt won the Betty Trask Award , a prize for young writers under the age of 35 presented to her by Prince Charles. In 1995 she wrote the novel First Knight based on the script of the film of the same name starring Sean Connery and Richard Gere .

Chadwick has now written more than 20 historical novels, all of which are set in the Middle Ages. Many of her novels made it onto the shortlist for the Romantic Novelist's Award. The Historical Novel Society in Great Britain named her the best contemporary writer of medieval novels .
