Elke Monssen-Engberding

Elke Monssen-Engberding (* 1950 ) is a German lawyer . From 1991 to 2016 she was the chairwoman of the Federal Examination Board for Writings / Media Harmful to Young Persons (BPjS / BPjM).

biography

Elke Monssen-Engberding studied law and has been working since 1979 first as a consultant at what was then the "Federal Inspectorate for Writings Harmful to Young People", which later became the "Federal Inspectorate for Media Harmful to Young People". In 1980 she became deputy chairwoman and from 1991 to 2016 she was chairwoman of the institution. In addition to managing the institution, she published numerous articles on the protection of minors and is also the editor of the BPjM-Aktuell series .

She also worked as a consultant for the AIDS coordination team at the Federal Ministry of Health .
