The Ellipson is a high-rise office building in Dortmund .

With a height of 60 meters and 17 floors, it has a floor space of around 10,000 m². The foundation stone was laid in January 1998. Dortmund's Lord Mayor laid the symbolic first stone. Just 19 months later, in July 1999, the opening was celebrated.

The Ellipson has a fully automatic parking system for 150 cars of different sizes, as well as central information technology, server and telecommunication facilities and services as well as extensive building services. The building concept was developed by Bilfinger Berger Projektentwicklung GmbH and the joint research project office21 under the direction of Fraunhofer IAO .

On the bottom floor, the Ellipson offers space for restaurants.

Due to its central location on Bundesstrasse 54 (Ruhrallee) and the close proximity to the “Stadthaus” tram stop, the Ellipson is easy to reach.
