Ellisried

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ellisried , formerly also known as Ermesrieder Feld, is an abandoned settlement in the Upper Swabian town of Mindelheim .

For the first time, Ellisried was documented on the basis of an Ellisrieder Steige in 1419. The name of the settlement changed several times from Elmißried, El Maßried to Elersried. The field name Ermesrieder Feld is noted on a survey map from 1834. It was north-west of Mindelheim, on the edge of the old brick barn near the former Mussak farm. The field extended west of the Westernacher Straße, north of today's Berwalder Waldsaumes down into the valley of the Westernach .
