The eight Elmberg trenches arise on the southern slopes of the Elmberg. They are numbered from west to east, with Elmberg trenches 1–3 flowing into the Linz AG sewer system on the edge of the populated area of Auhof . Elmberg trenches 4 and 5 flow into the sewer system on the northern edge of the grounds of the University of Linz , while Elmberg trenches 6 and 7 flow back into the sewer network at the edge of residential areas.
