Parental involvement

Parental participation , parental participation or parental involvement stands for the active participation of parents in educational institutions, especially in the school system . The options available to parents for this are regulated by law in Germany, especially in the school laws of the federal states; in addition, it depends on the offers and possibilities of the individual schools.

Parents can participate, for example, by participating in a parent council , by participating in the organization of lessons, in working groups, school parties and other projects. It is promoted through a regular mutual exchange of information between parents and school, for example in the context of parents' meetings .
