Elvenar is a browser- based building strategy game developed by InnoGames and published in January 2015.

Elvenar is a real-time strategy game with the aim of expanding a village through different levels (currently from level I to level XVI). There are a total of 21 different language versions. In addition, a beta server runs parallel to the normal language versions, which was the first Elvenar server to start. Each language version offers several independent worlds, the number of which depends on the number of players in the respective language version. A player can play in one or more worlds.
After registering in a world, the player has to choose a race: elves or humans. The differences lie in the appearance of the buildings. After that, a tutorial will help build the builder's hut, the first residential buildings to deliver coins, and the workshops to produce supplies. At the beginning only two builders are available, so that only two buildings can be erected at the same time. In the further course a market place for trading with other players, a barracks and a training ground can be built. Cultural buildings can increase the satisfaction of the residents and thus their productivity.
Every hour you receive one research point to unlock new buildings in the research tree. In the beginning, coins and supplies are sufficient for building construction. In the further course, factories have to be set up to produce standard goods such as marble, steel and wood. Most buildings can be constructed multiple times, and most buildings can also be expanded to increase production. Cultural buildings cannot be expanded and can only be replaced by new buildings.
By researching the Magical Academy, relics that you can find z. B. obtained in the conquest of provinces, magic objects or cultural buildings are produced.
By joining a guild, trading in goods is possible without a surcharge. You can also take part in tournaments or conquering the Tower of Eternity. In contrast to, for example, The Tribes and Forge of Empires, there are no fights between players ( PvP) or between guilds (GvG).
Provinces can be conquered on a world map. The conquest of the provinces can be done by fighting or by paying for goods. Conquering provinces gives you contact with other players, research points and other rewards. You can help guild members and players you have had contact with. For this you are rewarded with coins etc.
The limited building space available for the game can be expanded through research or by conquering a certain number of provinces. Conquering a certain number of provinces is a prerequisite for reaching a new level in the research tree.
Various events take place regularly with special tasks to be performed in order to win special prizes. The main prize is usually a building that produces coins, supplies, research points, or goods.
The game is essentially about building a city. The challenges are the arrangement and relationship of the various buildings in order to produce or trade the necessary goods that allow progress in the research tree and the further expansion of the city. The game can be played with different goals that can be combined with one another:
- build a large or particularly beautiful city
- advance in the points ranking of the world concerned
- Progress in the research tree and master the different challenges of the different guest races (e.g. dwarves, fairies, orcs)
- Participate in weekly tournaments and sporadic guild adventures with a guild

Elvenar is a free-to-play game. The in-game shop has diamonds as premium currency that can be purchased with real money. They can be used to (expand) special buildings and accelerate game progress.
