Elverson Road (DLR)
Elverson Road is a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station in the London Borough of Lewisham . It is located on the border of Travel Zone 2 and 3, at the intersection of Elverson Road and Connington Road in St John's, in the middle of a densely populated residential area.
The station opened on November 20, 1999, along with the section between Crossharbour and Lewisham . For the construction of the station, the Ravensbourne River had to be laid on a short section. Since a water-bearing limestone layer comes to the surface in the immediate vicinity , special structural protective measures were necessary to prevent contamination of the drinking water.
