The River Ravensbourne is a watercourse in Greater London . He was created as Ravens Bourne in Keston in the London Borough of Bromley . It flows north and changes its name to the River Ravensbourne in Bromley just before it flows into the London Borough of Lewisham .

Its upper course north of Deptford Bridge station is called Deptford Creek . The river is initially divided here between Lewisham and the Royal Borough of Greenwich . The river flows into the Thames at Greenwich.

The Docklands Light Railway follows the course of the river from Lewisham station to just before Greenwich station .

On June 17, 1497, the Battle of Deptford Bridge took place at Ravensbourne.
