Emilian

Emilian (also known as Elgersburger earthenware ), pot mass, invented by Dröse in Elgersburg ( Thuringia ), is pure white, yellowish or bluish, glazed from the fracture surface, but not translucent and, because of its permanent, metal-free glaze , is very suitable for chemical apparatus manufactured by the Elgersburger porcelain factory.

Emilian is originally a Roman family name that was adopted from French into German. It comes from the Latin aemulus = emulating, imitating. So Emilian means "the zealous". Name day is March 10th.
