The Emmanuel is the largest of the ten bells on Notre-Dame in Paris.

The Emmanuel (like Immanuel : "God (is / be) with us"), also called Emmanuel-Ludovica-Theresia (Emmanuel-Louise-Thérèse) or le Bourdon Emmanuel , is the largest bell in the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral . It is praised as the melodious bell in France ; Florentin le Guay cast it in 1682. Three years later, in 1685, it was re-cast by the three Lorraine traveling casters Chapelle, Gillot and Moreau, with the inscription of the predecessor with the foundry name Le Guay being taken over. The bell rings in the percussive fis 0 - 6 / 16 . With its highly estimated 13,000 kilograms, it is one of the largest and most important church bells in Europe. The clapper weighs 460 kilograms, the maximum diameter of the bell is 2,620 millimeters. The bell only rings on special occasions and holidays.
