Emmerich Weismüller

Emmerich Weismüller (* 1837 ; † September 8, 1909 ) was a Frankfurt industrialist and co-owner of the Gebr. Weismüller machine factory in Frankfurt-Bockenheim , which was lost around 1930 .

The former machine factory Gebrüder Weismüller had existed since 1866, after the Prussian annexation of Kurhessen, on the properties in Jordanstrasse 4 - 6 and in Kiesstrasse in the then still independent town of Bockenheim as a metalworking industrial company. The factory produced mechanical conveyor technology and a. for breweries, mills and grain companies and became an important employer in Bockenheim. In 1930 the machine factory Gebr. Weismüller became insolvent and liquidated during the global economic crisis. After the war, the company property was u. a. used by Hartmann & Braun AG . In 1987, the municipal ABG Frankfurt Holding Aktienbaugesellschaft built 82 apartments for small apartments on the former company site at Kiesstrasse / Jordanstrasse , including five apartments for wheelchair users. A green area was created inside the block.

Honors

Weismüllerstraße is named after him in Frankfurt's Ostend district.
