EnGarde Secure Linux is an independently developed Linux distribution for servers. It was designed as a particularly secure operating system and relies on SELinux .

The system can optionally be completely configured via an SSL -encrypted web interface . It has relatively low system requirements; the developers only specify an Intel Pentium processor, 32 MiB RAM and a 2 GB hard drive .

The system has been developed since 1999, the first version appeared in 2001. According to the company, it is the world's first open source security solution.

EnGarde Secure Linux was originally based on Red Hat Linux , but is now being developed independently.
