Enaim

Enaim ( עינים , plural form to עין, "source"; also: Enajim, Ena'im; according to the Septuagint also: Αιναν , Ainan), place in the Old Testament ( Genesis 38:14, 21; Book of Joshua 15:34)

The place is found in the story of Judah and Thamar . Gen 38 locates him near Adullam on the way to Timna : "... then she [ sc. Thamar] sat at the gate of Enaim, on the way to Timna" (Gen 38:14). Perhaps identical to that enam, which is counted in the list of the area of the tribe of Judah in Jos 15:34.

Since עין can also mean “eye” and ena'im can also be understood as a guide (cf. 4. Book of Moses 10:31), there are some interpretations in the Talmud .
