Encoded Archival Guide
Encoded Archival Guide (EAG) is a draft of a standard and the associated XML structure for encoding information about archives , such as: B. Address, opening times or technical equipment. It supplements the archival standards Encoded Archival Description (EAD) and Encoded Archival Context (EAC) with the option of providing detailed information on those institutions that have holdings available in electronic finding aids .
EAG was defined in 2008 in version Alfa 0.2 as a DTD exclusively for XML .
A largely revised version of the scheme has been available since 2012, which was developed as part of the APEx project for Archives Portal Europe and is maintained by the German Federal Archives .
