In information technology (IT) and telecommunications technology (TC), a terminal device , also called a data terminal or subscriber station , is a device (e.g. PC , fax machine , telephone or answering machine ) that is connected to a network termination of a public or private data or telecommunications network connected. This can be a direct electrical / optical connection, for example with a plug connector , or a radio connection such as a mobile phone .
