Engelbert Humperdinck Society

The Engelbert-Humperdinck-Gesellschaft mbH, based in Siegburg, is dedicated to the life and work of the Siegburg composer Engelbert Humperdinck and was founded in 1991. Its current managing director is the chamber musician Jost Nickel .

Under its auspices, the 1942 exists Elisabeth Herkenrath founded Engelbert Humperdinck-School of Music and founded in 1999 Musikwerkstatt Engelbert Humperdinck .

The latter primarily promotes new music by awarding commissioned compositions, organizing Days of New Music, awarding the Siegburg Composition Prize and making the manuscript archive of the German Tonkünstlerverband accessible .

Also in 1991 the almost identical Engelbert Humperdinck Society was founded in Boppard .
