Grandchildren's fountain

Grandchildren's fountain

The grandchildren's fountain in the park of Versailles Palace is named after a giant in Greek mythology and was built around 1676 as an ornamental and fountain system. The complex is on the right-hand side of the main path (Königsallee), seen from the castle, near the “Great Canal”.

The defeated giant tries to rise from the middle of boulders. On days with large water features, a jet of water about 25 meters high can spray out of the mouth.
