Enlil-bani (Shandabakku)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Enlil-bāni , descendant of Amilatum, was a high Kassite official and priest. He was not only šandabakku , a kind of archive manager or treasurer, perhaps also governor of Nippur and rabanum (mayor) of KUR-TI ( Dur-Kurigalzu ), but on a clay kudurru of Kurigalzu I he is also called nešakkum (high priest ) of Enlil called. Presumably under this ruler he was still šandabakku of Nippur and rabanum of KUR-TI, an accumulation of offices that was no longer to be found under later rulers.

His successor as nešakkum des Enlil under Burna-buriaš II was Ninurta-nadin-ahhe, whom most scholars consider his son. His successor in turn was Enlil-kidinni, who is also documented under the three following rulers.
