With enquete , in Switzerland enquête ( French: enquête "investigation", from the Latin inquirere , "investigate", "investigate" ), the prior examination of all circumstances and circumstances that are to be sorted in a legislative process is referred to in the sense of the state law . The compound term enquete commission is used more often than the term enquete.

In the more general sense of the word, other (often, but not necessarily official) surveys, surveys and research are also referred to in this way.

In Austria , the term “inquiry” is also used synonymously for work conference.
