The ensemble main street in Baiersdorf , a town in Middle Franconia, Erlangen-Höchstadt in Bavaria , is an architectural ensemble , under monument stands.

The upper part of the main street was still called Markt in the 18th century. It should therefore form the axis of the city founded in 1353 by the burgraves of Nuremberg next to an older settlement.

Since several city fires devastated the place, it is uncertain whether the floor plan of this market goes back to the time before the Thirty Years War . The development of the 17th / 18th Century is well preserved, with the inns and the former caste office accentuate the function of Baiersdorf as a small center.

The closure in the north should mark the transition to the given settlement situation. In the south, the square was closed by the Erlanger Gate until 1945.
