The Ensemble Neue Streicher Klosterneuburg is a chamber orchestra .

history

It was founded in 1983 in Klosterneuburg by Erke Duit and Johannes Holik . Since then, this chamber orchestra has become known far beyond Lower Austria with numerous concerts, which were performed both with pure strings and with the addition of winds . It works production-related with different conductors and consists of 12 - 35 musicians. The organizational management lies with Mag. Johannes Holik.

Performances and repertoire

In addition to the common chamber orchestra literature, the musical focus is on the one hand rarely performed works from the past and on the other hand the collaboration with young Austrian composers, which led to numerous world premieres of the ensemble. The ensemble took part in festivals such as the Vienna Music Summer , Contemporary Autumn, Grafenegger Advent, East Styrian Music Summer, Salzkammergut Mozart Festival and Mozart Year Vienna 2006. Concerts and tours took place at home and abroad. Several opera productions, radio recordings, recordings and CD recordings as well as two television productions show the scope of the Ensemble Neue Streicher.
